Millstone Stables, Tickhill

The Millstone inn and stables have a long and important history in the town and needed to retain their relationship with one another. They are sited directly opposite Tickhill Castle and close to many other significant historic and natural features so the impact on these needed to be carefully considered. The proposals involved conversion of the stable and a large extension to provide a single high-end house. I advised the client to amend the design to retain more original features in the stable and to the site (such as the stable dividers, flooring and set-pot) and reduce the visibility of the extension to limit harm to significance of the stable and the historic setting.
