The complexity of the farm's developmental history can be seen in its fabric

I was appointed as heritage consultant to assist with the planning application for the two resident clients on this 19th century farmstead. They each wanted to rebuild the derelict courtyard buildings and convert them to residential use. Although the farmstead itself was not designated, the two 20th century concrete silos are as they are early examples of the type.

I provided design advice to each of the clients and the respective designers to optimise the likelihood of a successful outcome. In conjunction with compelling heritage statements that detailed the historical development of the farmstead and analysed the impact of the developments on its heritage significance, permission was granted for both developments.

The proposals will sensitively restore the historic barns which will safeguard their futures, and the setting of the silos.
